Designation: Data Analyst

Office Location: Kuala Lumpur Kuala Lumpur (Office)

Position description: The Data Analyst is responsible for gathering and analyzing data from a variety of sources to identify trends in market performance, customer behavior, and the effectiveness of marketing campaigns. This involves using statistical tools and methods to process and interpret large dataset and using BI platforms to create visualizations comprehensible to a broad audience. They collaborate closely with the marketing team and other functions to convert raw data into valuable insights that drive key business decisions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Database Management: Ensure the overall health of the database, including improving and maintaining data accuracy and relevance, managing data imports and ensuring the uniqueness of records within the CRM, and implementing logical and strategic segmentation.
  • ABM Research: Create account dossiers through the gathering of insights and data about target accounts to inform and personalize marketing/sales strategies and tactics.
  • Reporting and Visualization: Create reports and dashboards to visualize data insights and present findings to stakeholders, helping them make informed decisions.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform marketing strategies.
  • Stakeholder Management: Understand, engage, and influence stakeholders to ensure their needs are addressed, building a good rapport with stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with MarOps, Campaigns, Design, and Content to analyze gaps and opportunities.
  • Campaign Optimization: Collaborating with marketing teams to optimize campaigns based on data-driven insights, such as adjusting targeting strategies, refining messaging, or reallocating budget.
  • People Management: Serve as a senior buddy to data associates, offering guidance and support to foster their learning and development.

Working Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in Marketing or 2+ years of working in an analytical role.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze, interpret, and manipulate data to derive meaningful insights.
  • Marketing Proficiency: Knowledge of marketing metrics, customer segmentation and marketing campaigns.
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to work with databases, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) to extract and manipulate data effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate complex data findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Experience in guiding and mentoring junior analysts, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Business Acumen: Understanding of industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer behavior to inform data analysis and strategy development.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and thoroughness in data handling and analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguous environments.
  • Ability to onboard and train new analysts effectively.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Marketing or a related field.

Qualities

  • Intermediate user of MS Excel.
  • Intermediate user of any data visualization tools (Looker Studio, Power BI, Tableau etc).
  • Intermediate user of any CRM and MAP tools (Salesforce, Hubspot, Marketo, Pardot etc).
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data and provide insights and recommendations.
  • Highly numerate with strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledgeable in core marketing/customer journey and commercial models.
  • Abie to work with multiple data sets and sheets.
  • Excellent English communication skills both in written and verbal.
