Job description

Job Description

As a Cyber Security Data Engineer you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet business requirements
  • Architect and manage complex SIEM data storage and processing solutions
  • Extract and manipulate data along the data pipeline
  • Design and implement new data processing algorithms for processing high volumes of data
  • Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights
  • Own data ingress, egress, processing, reporting, and alerting for the Cyber Security and Data Protection teams
  • Apply an “automation first” mindset to reduce manual efforts
  • Collaborate with other teams to define, build, and deliver solutions
  • Creation of dashboards and alerts in various services to include SaaS applications, custom scripted, and native PaaS environments
  • Other duties as assigned by organization leadership

Requirements

  • Min 3 - 5 years working experience in similar function.
  • Experience in scripting languages such as PowerShell, JavaScript, and Python
  • Knowledge of networking protocols, encryption, data loss prevention systems
  • Experience managing Windows and Linux servers
  • Experience with cloud platforms (PaaS, IaaS, etc)
  • Familiarity with Data Lakehouse, Data Lake, and Data Warehouse technologies
  • Strong experience with SIEM and logging solutions such as Splunk, Scalyr, Dataset, Cribl, syslog-ng, Elastic, etc
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with others, to influence based on knowledge and experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter with the dedication to work independently and as part of a team; ability to multi-task
  • Ability to thrive in dynamic environments with multiple changing priorities, where prioritization and time management are necessary tools
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and an ability to diagnose problems across multiple disciplines
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; detail-oriented yet able to understand impacts across multiple projects and systems

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with regex
  • Experience with Amazon Security Lake, Databricks, or Snowflake
  • Azure or AWS certifications
  • Windows server or Linux server certifications
