Job summary

Flex is seeking a Customer Quality Engineer to join the Mechanical Plant Batu Kawan, Penang. You will maintain quality programs, standards and improvements, and interact with customers on quality issues.

The role involves inspection planning, data analysis, corrective actions (NCR/CAPA), and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 6 years of Quality Engineering experience in mechanical manufacturing.
• Experience with stamping, assembly, welding, powder coating, machining or metal fabrication.
• Hands-on measurement with Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Profile Projector and CMM.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, QMS, audits, NCR, CAPA, and continuous improvement practices.
• Experience in customer complaint handling and 8D problem solving with RCA.

Job Summary

Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, Axiom, with the spin planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support Axiom, a company focused on critical digital infrastructure and delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Customer Quality Engineer located in Mechanical Plant Batu Kawan, Penang.

In this role, you will be maintaining quality engineering programs, standards and improvements within the organization.

What a typical day looks like:

• Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation.
• Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating and reporting quality and reliability data.
• Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost.
• Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product or process quality and reliability.
• Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.
• Holds up Product Engineers and Quality Program Managers with customer interfaces as necessary on quality related issues.
• Assures data availability and integrity for all quality related data. Consolidates and reports quality results.
• Initiates corrective action requests as needed and tracks to satisfactory completion.
• Assists with development and implementation of quality audits.
• In charge of developing, applying, revising and maintaining quality standards for processing materials into partially finished or finished products.
• Designs and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and/or production equipment.
• Explores reports and returned products and recommends corrective action.
• Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement and research of equipment and facilities.
• Approves product, process and equipment qualifications.
• Provides liaison to various regulatory bodies.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• Typically requires minimum 6 years of Quality Engineering experience mechanical manufacturing industry.
• Familiar with Stamping, Assembly, Welding, Powder Coating, Machining, or Metal Fabrication processes.
• Hands-on experience using measurement tools such as Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Profile Projector, and CMM.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, QMS requirements, audits, NCR, CAPA, and continuous improvement practices.
• Experience in customer complaint handling, 8D problem solving, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and corrective action implementation.
• Able to work closely with customers and cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and drive customer satisfaction.
