Job summary

CFI Financial Group in Malaysia is seeking a Backend Tech Lead – Crypto to drive the design, development, and scalability of our blockchain-related backend systems. You will lead a team of engineers, set technical direction, and deliver secure, high-performance solutions for crypto trading, custody, and settlement.

The ideal candidate has strong Python backend expertise, experience with REST APIs, Docker/Kubernetes, and cloud pipelines, plus Flutter for mobile interfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in Python, REST APIs, and database systems.
• Hands-on Flutter development for mobile.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and cloud platforms (AWS).
• Strong Git workflow knowledge and agile practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor backend engineers on crypto projects.
• Define coding standards and ensure technical excellence.
• Collaborate with product, frontend/mobile teams, and leadership.
• Review designs, code, and architecture for quality.
• Design, build, and maintain APIs and microservices for crypto trading.
• Optimize SQL/NoSQL database structures for scalability.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and security practices.
• Ensure fault-tolerance and regulatory compliance.
• Integrate with third-party services, crypto exchanges, and internal APIs.
