Job summary

Vantage Data Centers is seeking a Critical Facilities Technician to join our Site Operations team in Cyberjaya. You will work on electrical, mechanical systems and facilities to support 24/7 operations at our data campus.

This role requires a Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, 2–3 years’ experience, and the ability to work rotating shifts with PPE. You will coordinate with vendors, operate, maintain and test critical infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Certificate/ Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant discipline.
• Registered local Government certification to perform electrical switching and/or mechanical services operations.
• 2-3 years working experience in building, electrical and / or HVAC operation and maintenance.
• High level of computer literacy (Word, Excel, databases).
• Prepared to work on a rotating 24/7 shift basis, weekends, public holidays and be available for emergency response.
• Prepared to wear PPE and work in extreme conditions.
• Experience operating, maintaining, repairing, inspecting, and testing electrical distribution systems, including generators, UPS, HVAC, fire systems, and BMS/automation systems.
• Familiarity with maintaining schedules and working with vendors.
• Previous supervision of vendors during preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Being assertive, committed, and able to perform multiple tasks independently and efficiently.
• Being a team player with good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee testing, inspection, troubleshooting and validation of critical equipment and systems.
• Ensure safe work practices are always adhered to.
• Comply with Methods of Procedure, Standards of Operation, Emergency Response Procedures, and preventive maintenance programs.
• Monitor site via Building Management System and perform regular walkthroughs.
• Plan, prepare, execute and report maintenance activities prioritizing reliability and energy efficiency.
• Understand critical infrastructure design intent, sequences of operation, fault conditions and corrective actions.
• Pursue ongoing training to meet operational requirements and procedures.

Site Operations Department

The Site Operations Department is responsible for the overall health of all mechanical and electrical systems, building maintenance, and performance of all data modules in our data centers. The team is staffed 24 x 7 onsite with Critical Facilities Engineers (CFEs) working on shift. This team is the face of Vantage to our customers and the guaranty of business continuity and excellence of Operations of our campus as well as the performance of our customer installations. Using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to plan and track maintenance activities, the Site Operations department is responsible for all preventative and corrective maintenance. Critical Facilities Technicians are members of the Critical Facility Engineering team that play a crucial role in maintaining the overall health of our data center’s infrastructure systems to ensure that our customers receive best-in‑class data center services. The Critical Facility Technicians at Vantage manage vital electrical and mechanical infrastructure as part of our daily operation and possess expertise in mission critical facility management. Responsibilities include facility maintenance and capacity management, performance optimization, and providing rapid response and performing repairs when unplanned events occur.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support testing, inspection, troubleshooting and validation of critical equipment and technical systems, spares, plant, and facilities
• Ensure that safe work practices are always adhered to
• Comply with our approved Methods of Procedure (MOP), Standards of Operation (SOP), Emergency Response Procedures (ERP), and preventive maintenance programs.
• Maintain constant monitoring of the site by utilizing our Building Management System and other available systems, as well as conducting walkthroughs on a regular basis
• Ensure that maintenance activities are planned, prepared, executed, and reported to the highest standard possible with a focus on reliability, energy efficiency and continuity of services.
• Develop a thorough understanding of the critical infrastructure design intent, the sequence of operations, the fault conditions, and the corrective actions associated with them.
• Undertake ongoing training and expertise development to ensure competency levels meet operational requirements and procedures required by VDC

Job Requirements
