Job summary

bp is seeking a Credit Research and Underwriting Manager for Supply Trading & Shipping in Kuala Lumpur. You will develop counterparty credit ratings, set limits, and partner with global credit staff to align underwriting across regions.

You’ll lead a local team and contribute to risk management and deal execution in a high-stakes trading environment. The role requires 8+ years in credit research, strong financial modelling, and a background in commodity trading.

Qualifications

• Master’s and/or bachelor’s degree required in Finance or Accounting.
• 8+ years of experience in credit research across multiple sectors and geographies.
• Knowledge of commodity trading, energy and derivative products.

Responsibilities

• Analyse counterparties and assign credit ratings across your coverage portfolio.
• Manage credit and tenor limits for trading counterparties within delegated authorities.
• Lead local team members and develop talent while aligning with global underwriting approaches.
• Support deal teams with risk appetite analysis and portfolio monitoring.
• Identify emerging trends and adjust risk appetite or underwriting approaches as needed.
