The main responsibility of the Credit Controller in SSEA is to coordinate the debts of existing creditors and decide whether to allow credit to debtors, working to ensure high customer satisfaction and loyalty. This is achieved by maintaining close links with customers to handle collection, resolve account queries, and recover debts.

Job Responsibilities

Professional Competencies (Duties and Tasks)

  1. Credit Control
  • Ensure that credit control is performed and delivered to set targets and deadlines.
  • Secure credit control procedures and policies that ensure timely payments while maintaining a high level of customer retention.
  • Check customers' credit ratings before credit approval.
  • Review PSS Agreements and open credit accounts.
  • Manage the timely and effective collection of all debts and payments.
  • Negotiate repayment plans when necessary.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure invoices are paid promptly.
  • Post and allocate daily receipts to accounting systems; prepare reports for management.
  • Provide accounts information to internal departments.
  • Review and update debt recovery procedures and suspend the supply of goods/services or initiate legal actions when necessary.
  • Conduct reviews, analysis, and prepare reports on routine and ad-hoc requests.
  • Review and update credit limits regularly to comply with the Scania Group Policy.
  • Collection and Overdue Follow-up
    • Make calls to customers and follow up via email, phone, and WhatsApp daily.
    • Collect cheques and handle credit card payments.
    • Hold regular credit meetings with branches to review overdue accounts and define action points.
    • Handle statements of accounts per customer.
    • Coordinate cross-functional meetings to resolve disputes/issues with customers.
    • Send reminder letters and initiate legal actions when applicable.
    • Review write-offs and provisions for bad debts.
  • Improvement Work According to the Scania Way (SRS)
    • Understand and act according to the Scania Way framework.
    • Maintain normal operations, detect deviations, and act immediately to eliminate them.
    • Contribute to daily follow-up and steering.
    • Participate in and contribute to improvement activities based on standardized methods.

    Desirable Experience and Qualifications

    • Relevant education or equivalent work experience.
    • Experience in a similar role is an advantage.
    • Fluent in English.
