About the Role:

In this role, you will be directly responsible for ensuring that all applications received from the Sales and Business Development team are properly filtered through an advanced credit scoring system, aligning with CapBay’s mission to provide smart and inclusive financing to SMEs while maintaining investor trust.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide credit evaluation on financing applications submitted by Business Units, including risk assessment, appropriate facility structuring, and preparation of credit papers/memos/term sheets for submission to the relevant approving authority or Credit Committee.
  • Provide financial projections or sensitivity analyses for credit evaluations where necessary.
  • Conduct client interviews with Relationship Managers during on-site visits if required.
  • Perform independent post-approval reviews on credit accounts.
  • Monitor loan portfolio repayments and conduct periodic credit reviews on accounts.
  • Assess and ensure the overall good health of the department's credit portfolio.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports and statistical analyses.
  • Participate in managing the efficacy of credit policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Attend credit-related business development meetings with external parties.

Key Qualities and Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in Retail SME credit analysis or SME/business banking sales and relationship management.
  • A recognized Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional experience in Finance or Credit Analysis, with qualifications such as Credit Certified Professional (CCP), Certified Credit Professional (CCE), or BCP from AICB/Omega CSA being an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills with a good understanding of financial analysis and cash flow projections.
  • Sound knowledge of credit products, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Updated on the latest financial, banking, compliance, and economic news/issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, fluent in English and proficient in Bahasa Malaysia.
