Objective of the Role:
This role is central to shaping 7-Eleven’s creative direction and is responsible for conceptualizing, developing, and executing creative campaigns and brand assets that align with 7-Eleven’s marketing objectives. The Creative Manager leads the creative team in the development and execution of compelling, brand-aligned visual communications across 7-Eleven Malaysia. This role oversees the end-to-end creative process—from ideation to final output—for campaigns, branding, in-store visuals, digital content, and packaging design. The Creative Manager collaborates cross-functionally with Brand, Digital, Fresh Food, and Agency teams to ensure consistent and effective creative delivery that meets business and marketing goals.
Responsibilities:
Lead the development of creative concepts, visual storytelling, and design execution across all touchpoints for 7-Eleven (including in-store, ATL/BTL, digital, and packaging).
Translate brand strategy and marketing briefs into creative storytelling and impactful visuals.
Set the overall creative vision and ensure brand consistency across all assets and categories.
Provide art direction, copy guidance, and feedback to internal teams and external agencies.
Manage and mentor a team of designers, copywriters, and visual content creators.
Supervise team workload, timelines, and deliverables to ensure high-quality and timely execution.
Conduct regular creative reviews and provide constructive feedback to elevate the quality of work.
Cultivate a collaborative, high-performing creative culture within the team.
Project & Workflow Management
Collaborate with marketing, digital, and merchandising teams to align creative output with campaign timelines and objectives.
Develop and implement internal creative processes and standard operating procedures to improve efficiency.
Oversee creative resource planning and ensure bandwidth is managed across priority projects.
Maintain project trackers, reviews, and approval checkpoints to manage progress and deadlines.
Campaign & Asset Development
Oversee the creation of all marketing visuals including:
In-store TVCs, digital screens, and animation assets
Social media visuals, videos, and content templates
Packaging design and private label branding
Seasonal campaigns and promotional creative
Stakeholder & Agency Collaboration
Work closely with internal stakeholders (Brand Managers, Fresh Food, Digital, etc.) to interpret and translate marketing needs into effective visuals.
Liaise with agencies and vendors to brief creative requirements, review deliverables, and ensure alignment with the brand.
Ensure creative alignment and communication across all retail and digital platforms.
Brand Governance
Own the development and enforcement of 7-Eleven International and Malaysia’s brand guidelines.
Ensure consistency in look and feel across customer touchpoints, including tone, typography, and design systems.
Support the evolution and localization of the brand’s visual identity as needed.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Visual Communications, Creative Arts, Marketing, or a related field.
Minimum 6–8 years of creative experience in design, branding, or advertising (with at least 3 years in a leadership role).
Strong portfolio demonstrating campaign and brand development across multiple channels.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects).
Excellent project management, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Experience working with retail, F&B, or FMCG brands is a plus.
