Your new company

Your new opportunity is with one of Malaysia's largest industrial material manufacturers, who are seeking a strong Country Procurement Manager (HOD) to helm the strategic and operational function for the Malaysia-wide operations.

Your new role

You will drive strategic procurement, operational purchasing and vendor management initiatives to create further efficiencies in both cost and process, benchmarking against market competitiveness and best practice. You and your team will work closely with key stakeholders across various functions, analyzing and defining actionable impacts and areas for improvement, including supplier risk management. You will be responsible for ensuring implementation of compliant SOPs and timely delivery of required materials, equipment and services. As a strong leader, you play a big part in contributing to the success of numerous KPIs across the business.

What you'll need to succeed

1. Proven track-record in strategic procurement - direct & indirect categories within Heavy Manufacturing / Construction Manufacturing industries
2. Added advantage if you possess a background in Engineering with an ability to read technical drawings.
3. Familiarity with various ERP systems
4. Demonstrable success in leading and conducting technical / commercial / legal contract negotiations
5. Strong ability to develop positive internal and external relationships with key business users
6. Hands-On capabilities with people-management experience
