Overview

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate with SSC KL Finance teams (AP, GAMA, AR, TR, T&E, Compliance, Procurement) to ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, following the closing checklist.
  2. Perform analytical reviews of profit and loss accounts and balance sheets, ensuring financial accuracy of the affiliate’s financial statements.
  3. Manage Internal Controls of Financial Reporting (ICFR) documentation and internal controls, acting as owner for ICFR tools (INVOLVE and BWISE).
  4. Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, follow up on open items, and rectify anomalies.
  5. Submit reporting packages (e.g., Sustainability, Insurance) accurately and timely. Handle IFRS 16 Leasing matters using tools like SimSol / Planon.
  6. Review and approve manual journal entries posted by SSC KL. Oversee management accounting tasks such as period cost and COPA allocations.
  7. Manage Accounts Receivables and Payables, including review and approval of manual billings, debtors aging, vendor invoices, and payments.
  8. Oversee Treasury functions like cash flow forecasting, FX deals, credit facilities, and banking matters.
  9. Manage master data such as Chart of Accounts, Cost Center, Profit Center, WBS, vendor & customer data, UCI, etc.
  10. Prepare statutory tax calculations, reconcilements, and liaise with tax consultants. Prepare audit schedules and documentation, coordinate with auditors.
  11. Participate in compliance audits, respond to audit queries, and seek continuous improvement opportunities.
  12. Serve as the main contact for SSC KL Finance teams and affiliates for financial issue resolution and advisory.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the industry (medical, pharmaceutical, biotech), with at least 3 years in an accountant or audit role.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, audit, and taxation.
  • Proficiency in SAP and MS Office; professional qualifications like ACCA or CPA are advantageous.
  • Meticulous, proactive, independent, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and in a dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to travel for business when required.
  • Proficiency in English; Japanese language skills are a plus.
