Job summary

A leading company in the F&B industry is looking for a Costing Executive to manage food costing and optimize profitability. The role involves monitoring kitchen inventory, analyzing expenses, and proposing process improvements. Ideal candidates should hold a degree in Finance or Accounting, possess costing experience, and be proficient in relevant management systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as Mandarin proficiency to liaise effectively with suppliers and staff.

Qualifications

  • Costing experience in F&B, hospitality, or retail preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, especially in food production.
  • Own transport and willingness to travel as needed.

About the job Costing Executive (F&B industry)

Company Background

We are representing our clients in Food & Beverage (F&B) industry:

1. Chinese seafood restaurant and event banquet that delivers the ultimate dining experience based in Petaling Jaya.

2. Fast growing F&B company with over 20+ outlets across Malaysia, with the HQ based in Kepong.

As they are expanding, they are currently looking forCostingExecutive.

Job Responsibilities

  • Verify & monitor raw material consumption and wastage in the kitchen and production department, escalating any abnormal cases to the superior.
  • Conduct stock takes for kitchen inventory, comparing actual stock with system records and reporting variances.
  • Maintain and analyze food costing, menu pricing, and cost control measures to optimize profitability.
  • Assist in preparing budgeted manufacturing statements, profit & loss accounts, and tax estimations based on the annual operation plan.
  • Oversee operating expenses (OPEX) & capital expenditures (CAPEX) related to kitchen and restaurant operations.
  • Analyze profitability by menu items, ingredients, and supplier costs to support pricing decisions.
  • Review and maintain the top customer lists to track spending trends.
  • Propose process improvements to enhance cost efficiency in food production and restaurant operations.
  • Handle ad hoc assignments from management as required.

Requirement

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Costing experience, preferably in F&B, hospitality, or retail.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, especially in food production.
  • Proficient in SAP, Cost Allocation, and inventory management systems.
  • Mandarin proficiency (spoken & written) is required to liaise with suppliers, kitchen staff, and management.
  • Own transport required and willingness to travel when needed.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
