The Role

As a Cost Controller, you will:

Cost Monitoring & Data Management

• To assist in maintaining accurate costing records, including raw materials, production, and inventory costs.
• To support in updating and verifying BOM (Bill of Materials) data in the system.
• To track and analyze daily cost fluctuations, ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Cost Reporting & Analysis

• To prepare regular cost reports for management review, identifying key variances.
• To assist in COGS and manufacturing cost analysis, highlighting any abnormalities.
• To monitor inventory costing and stock movement, ensuring accurate valuation of inventory.

Stock & Inventory Cost Control

• To assist in conducting stock takes and variance investigations.
• To track slow-moving inventory and support cost-saving measures to minimize waste.
• To work with the procurement and supply chain teams to verify pricing accuracy for purchased materials.

System & Compliance Maintenance

• To maintain cost-related data in internal financial and inventory systems.
• To manage system item profiles, ensuring accurate product cost mapping and updates.
• To ensure costing compliance with company policies and audit requirements.
• To support in periodic system updates and cost reconciliations.
• To alert relevant teams when cost variances exceed acceptable limits.
• To assist in identifying potential cost savings in procurement and production.
• To support in costing-related projects, such as process improvements and automation tracking.

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Minimum at least 2 years of experience in cost control, financial analysis, or inventory management within a manufacturing or retail company.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and cost accounting methodologies.
• Strong analytical skills to assess cost structures, variances, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Experience in managing system item profiles, BOM (Bill of Materials), and inventory cost tracking.
• Ability to collaborate with finance, supply chain, procurement, and production teams to ensure cost accuracy and efficiency.

Location: Eco Business Park 1, Bandar Dato Onn, Johor Bahru.
