Overview
The Database Administrator Corporate Trainee will provide day-to-day support to team members, especially on database and documentation. The Corporate Trainee will embark on a structured development program designed to cultivate a comprehensive understanding of our corporate functions, with a primary focus on database management and Unix environment proficiency.
This role is tailored for a recent graduate who possesses strong foundational skills in SQL Server and Oracle, with additional knowledge in other database systems being advantageous but not required. The trainee will contribute to various projects, supporting our database and Unix operations while acquiring valuable professional skills and insights.
Responsibilities
- Database Administrator Corporate Trainee Support
- Assist with Database Management
- Assist in the administration, monitoring, and maintenance of SQL Server and Oracle databases.
- Support the execution of data migration, backup, and recovery procedures.
- Collaborate on optimizing database performance and ensuring data integrity and security.
- Assist with Unix\Linux task and Windows task
- Utilize Unix commands and scripting to navigate and manage Unix systems effectively.
- Support system administrators in daily operations and troubleshooting tasks within the Unix environment.
- Participate in the deployment and management of applications on Unix-based servers.
- Assist with Project Support:
- Contribute to ongoing and new database-related projects, providing insights and technical support as needed. Assist in documenting processes, best practices, and project progress.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and deliverables.
- Collaboration with IT Teams:
- Work with other IT teams to ensure smooth integration of applications and solutions.
- Training and Development:
- Keep learning and using new technologies and methods relevant to the role. (This is part of our daily training). Coordinate the weekend activity meeting and prepare documentation for it. Adhere to company policies and procedures related to client-server operations, security and data privacy.
- Additional Tasks:
- Participate in other projects/tasks as assigned by senior or Team Head
- Specialist knowledge:
- Preferably Entry Level specialized in Information Technology or equivalent.
- No work experience required.
- Minimum CGPA is 3.0 pointer.
- Strong team player with strong interpersonal and communicative skills.
- Required language(s): Fluent verbal and written in English required.
- Required Skill(s): IT skills that are closely matching to Database, Linux, and Microsoft product
- Additional:
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 products.
- Experience and knowledge of SQL Server and Oracle databases at least at project level
- Familiarity with Unix environment and commands.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Eagerness to learn and grow within a corporate setting.
Contract and Career Progression
NOTE: Successful candidates will be employed on a 1-year contract directly under Commerz Global Service Solutions Sdn Bhd. Upon completion of the Corporate Trainee Program, permanent employment will be offered based on the overall performance evaluation throughout the 1-year program.
