Job description

As a Corporate Lawyer at Rohamat & Ling, you will gain hands-on exposure to debt capital markets, IPOs, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and a wide range of commercial transactions. You will play a key role in advising clients and drafting strategic legal documentation across diverse industries.

Key Responsibilities

Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including joint venture agreements, shareholders’ agreements, and sale and purchase agreements.

Conduct legal due diligence exercises for mergers, acquisitions, and equity fundraising exercises, including IPOs.

Assist in the end-to-end IPO process, including preparation of legal documentation, liaising with regulatory authorities, and ensuring compliance with listing requirements.

Advise on corporate structuring, M&A, and other transactional matters.

Provide legal guidance on regulatory and compliance issues to ensure adherence to Malaysian laws and relevant regulations.

Collaborate closely with partners and clients to deliver practical, business-focused legal solutions.

Stay up to date with legislative and regulatory developments and proactively identify legal risks.

Supervise and mentor junior team members as required.

What We're Looking For

A Bachelor’s Degree in Law and a valid practising certificate in Malaysia.

Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in corporate or commercial law. Fresh graduates with strong interest and willingness to learn are also encouraged to apply.

Solid drafting and negotiation skills, with a strong understanding of corporate and commercial law.

High commercial awareness with the ability to deliver pragmatic legal advice.

Excellent interpersonal and client-handling skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.

Strong command of both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
