Job Description - Corporate Action Team Lead – Custody (250000CV)
- Overseeing and coordinating all aspects of corporate action activities within the Custody department.
- Ensuring accurate and timely processing of corporate actions, while adhering to regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Overseeing as a checker/authoriser to the end-to-end processing of all corporate actions, including but not limited to dividends, mergers, acquisitions, stock splits, rights issues, and proxy voting as well as Bursa CDS transactions.
- Monitoring and resolving any issues or discrepancies related to corporate actions, working closely with internal and external parties to ensure timely resolution.
- Perform regulatory reporting, management reporting and risk related reporting
- Handle enquiries received from Internal and external customers as well as regulators (e.g Bursa Malaysia)
- Extend BAU support to Trade Settlement team as and when required.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to assess the accuracy and effectiveness of corporate action processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary change
- Conduct regular reviews on corporate action processes to identify opportunities for continuous improvements, digital and STP enhancements.
- Initiate and drive process improvements or digital enhancements in corporate action processing.
- Develop and implement standardized procedures and controls to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate risk in corporate action processing.
- Providing guidance, training, and support to the Corporate Action team of professionals to ensure efficient and accurate processing of corporate actions.
- Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders, including portfolio managers, traders, and compliance teams, to ensure smooth coordination and execution of corporate actions.
- Stay updated on industry regulations, market practices, and emerging trends related to corporate actions, and ensure compliance with all relevant rules and guidelines.
- Foster a collaborative and positive team environment, promoting knowledge sharing, professional development, and continuous improvement within the team.
Qualifications
- Graduate in Banking, Finance or other related fields.
- Knowledge of corporate actions handling for various types of securities
- Sound understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to corporate actions custodian operations.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team and drive results.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Confident in learning new functions and processes and able to analyse current procedures with a focus on continuous process improvement
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
