Job Summary

Coordinates and manages BIM collaboration and clash detection initiatives during design and construction in a project according to the overall resources, timelines and standards, in conjunction with the client requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • To manage day to day BIM processes and activities for coordination of project.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among all project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients, using the BIM model as a central communication tool.
  • Involved heavily in the coordination of federated models from different disciplines, running clash detection analyses, and managing the resolution of identified clashes.
  • Ensure that the project team adheres to the established BIM Execution Plan, including standards, workflows, and data exchange protocols.
  • Oversee the flow of information and data exchange between different teams, ensuring that all stakeholders have access to the most up-to-date and accurate information.
  • Involved actively in BIM Coordination meetings, VDR/VDC Sessions to discuss model progress, resolve issues, and ensure alignment among team members.
  • Work closely with design and operation teams, proactively identify and help resolve coordination issues and potential conflicts within the BIM models before they impact construction.
  • Perform regular quality checks and audits on the BIM models to ensure they meet project requirements and industry standards.
  • Support BIM Documentation and BIM Compliance efforts.
  • Provide project-specific BIM training and support to team members to ensure effective use of BIM processes and tools for coordination.
  • To comply and adhere to all matters pertaining to Quality, Safety & Health and Environment related to the job scope and work place as required by the Company.
  • Any other duties that will be assigned from time to time by the Management.
Qualifications & Competencies Required
  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor Degree Certificate in Architecture/Engineering or equivalent.
  • Construction Industry knowledge in multiple disciplines and significant experience in BIM coordination or BIM management.
  • Proficient in BIM software (Revit, Navisworks, Civil3D, etc.)

  • Knowledge in others 3D modelling software, eg. SketchUp, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor may be considered.

  • In depth knowledge of BIM Concepts and Standards (ISO19650).

  • In depth knowledge of BIM coordination processes.

  • Construction Industry knowledge in multiple disciplines.

  • Experience in Design Drawing, Construction Drawing & all relevant technical issues (added advantage).

  • Preference given for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) BIM experience.

  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency deploying and managing BIM model authoring software.

  • Knowledge of BIM standards and protocols, such as COBie, IFC, and BIM Execution Plans

  • Knowledge of advanced Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) methods.

  • Software certification in Autodesk or Bentley (added advantage).

Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to manage complex data sets.
  • Ability to analyse and resolve complex BIM-related issues.
  • Good communication and coordination skills are also necessary for collaborating with the BIM team and coordinating with other project stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Engineering Design principles and MEP Installation.
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
