About the role

We are seeking an experienced Conveyancing Legal Clerk to join our team at The Law Chambers Of W.J. Chuah in Bukit Mertajam, Penang. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for providing valuable legal support to our conveyancing practice, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of property transactions.

What you'll be doing

Preparing and drafting legal documents such as sale and purchase agreements, loan agreements, deed of transfer, and other conveyancing-related forms

Conducting property and land searches, and maintaining accurate records

Liaising with clients, real estate agents, government departments, bank officers and other parties involved in property transactions

Assisting with the completion of property transactions, including coordinating with banks, stamp duty offices, and relevant authorities

Providing administrative support to the conveyancing team, including filing, data entry, and other clerical duties

Staying up-to-date with changes in conveyancing laws and regulations

Working independently on the case assigned

What we're looking for

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Conveyancing Legal Clerk or in a similar role

Strong knowledge of conveyancing laws, procedures, and documentation (particularly for the development projects with the new e-SPA era and subsale-related cases)

Excellent communication (both Bahasa Malaysia and English) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and other stakeholders

Proficiency in using relevant legal software and technologies

Meticulous attention to detail and excellent organisational skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
