Job summary

Sterling Generators Malaysia Sdn Bhd seeks an experienced Commissioning Engineer to execute Level 1 to Level 5 commissioning for diesel generator systems in data centre projects. You will perform pre-commissioning inspections, testing, IST, and load bank validation on-site in Johor and Cyberjaya.

In this contract-based, on-site role, you will troubleshoot, coordinate with OEMs, and generate detailed reports while ensuring compliance with safety and project standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in commissioning diesel generator systems.
• Proven experience in data centre projects (mission-critical environments preferred).
• Strong knowledge of generator control panels, synchronization systems, ATS, and protection systems.
• Hands-on experience with load bank testing and IST.

Responsibilities

• Execute Level 1 to Level 5 commissioning activities for diesel generator systems in data centre projects.
• Perform pre-commissioning inspections, functional testing, and integrated systems testing.
• Conduct load bank testing and performance validation.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control system issues during commissioning.
• Coordinate with OEM vendors and consultants for system validation and approvals.
• Report generation and updating data on commissioning software.
• Review technical drawings, specifications and method statements for site planning.
• Support installation verification and ensure compliance with project standards.
• Maintain proper documentation, test reports and handover records.
• Assist in manpower planning and scheduling for commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors and client representatives.
