BP in Kuala Lumpur invites a Contract Advisory Lead to partner with the Contract Advisory Manager, shaping strategies and ensuring compliant, efficient contracting aligned with BP’s business goals. You will influence cross-functional teams, draft and improve templates, and lead negotiations to deliver value across our global procurement operations.

The role requires proven contract management experience, strong analytical and negotiation skills, and familiarity with CLM tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Law, Business, Supply Chain, or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in contract management, procurement, or commercial advisory.
• Solid understanding of contract law, procurement principles, and risk management.
• Experience with contract management tools (Ariba, Sirion, Compass) is an advantage.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead contract advisory activities across procurement categories.
• Develop, maintain, and improve contract templates, playbooks, and guidance materials.
• Partner with category managers, legal teams, SMEs and business partners to provide advice on drafting, negotiation, and risk mitigation.
• Support complex contract negotiations, ensuring balanced and value-driven terms.
• Monitor contract performance and compliance, identifying opportunities for improvement and cost optimization.
• Contribute to training and capability-building initiatives for procurement teams on contracting processes.
• Support other contracting initiatives rollout within Contract Lifecycle Management Team.
