Job summary

ERM seeks an accomplished environmental consultant to lead EIA/ESIA baseline work across Asia-Pacific. You will coordinate surveys, data analysis, and reporting, collaborating with regional teams to deliver compliant environmental assessments for diverse clients.

Required are 5–9 years of EIA/ESIA experience, DOE registration, and strong English communication. Travel across APAC is expected, with opportunities for professional growth in a global sustainability firm.

Qualifications

  • 5–9 years of experience in EIA/ESIA studies and baseline assessments.
  • Registered DOE consultant (Assistant Consultant / Subject Specialist).
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary teams on environmental and biodiversity assessments.
  • Strong background in environmental planning and impact assessment across APAC.
  • Fluency in English mandatory; additional Asian languages a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct baseline biodiversity surveys and assessments for EIA/ESIA across APAC.
  • Monitor environmental baseline data (air, water, noise, land use, soil) per regulations.
  • Analyze baseline data to identify trends and assess potential impacts.
  • Prepare Environmental Impact Assessments and EMSPs per standards.
  • Contribute to EMP/ESMP for key parameters.
  • Carry out environmental due diligence per international standards.
  • Develop corrective action plans for compliance gaps.
  • Collaborate with ERM global/regional teams on projects.
  • Able to carry out data analytics and GIS work for impact assessment.
  • Preferably work on impact prediction models/software for APAC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct baseline biodiversity surveys and assessments for EIA/ESIA studies across Asia-Pacific jurisdictions.
  • Participate in environmental baseline monitoring (air, water, noise, land use, soil) in compliance with updated regional and international regulations.
  • Analyze and interpret baseline data to identify historical trends and assess potential impacts.
  • Prepare Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan in alignment with national and international standards.
  • Contribute to the preparation of Environmental and Social Management Plans (EMP/ESMP) for key environmental parameters.
  • Conduct environmental due diligence and assessments aligned with international standards (Equator Principles, IFC, ADB, World Bank, JBIC).
  • Develop corrective action plans for compliance gaps.
  • Collaborate with ERM global and regional teams to deliver multi-office EIA/ESIA projects.
  • Able to carry out data analytics and GIS work to support impact assessment and reporting.
  • Preferably work on impact prediction and analysis models/software relevant to APAC projects.
Requirements
  • B.Tech/M.Tech in Environmental Engineering OR Master's in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Management, or related discipline.
  • 5-9 years of experience in EIA/ESIA studies and environmental baseline assessments.
  • Registered consultant with DOE (Assistant Consultant / Subject Specialist).
  • Previous consultancy experience with multi-disciplinary teams focusing on environmental and biodiversity assessments.
  • Strong background in environmental planning and impact assessment, advising private and government clients across APAC.
  • Practical knowledge of quantitative analysis tools for baseline studies and impact prediction.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills; fluency in English is mandatory.
  • Additional fluency in Asian languages (Mandarin, Bahasa, Japanese) and foreign languages (French/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across Asia-Pacific, including fieldwork for periods exceeding 2 weeks.
