Job summary

Orangeleaf Consulting is seeking Consultants to take the lead on developing innovative systems for local and international clients using Mendix. Training will upgrade coding skills to Mendix, with growth paths toward senior management. Projects are typically on-site with travel required.

You will oversee end-to-end project processes, mentor teams, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver high-quality software and meet KPIs and SLAs. English proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or Business IT Management
• 6–15 years in software development with at least 3 years in team management
• Proven experience leading Scrum/Agile teams with full project ownership
• In-depth knowledge of web technologies and OO languages (Java, C#, VB.NET, PHP)
• Skilled in SQL database design and complex query development
• Familiarity with microservice architecture
• Interest in working with low-code technology (training provided)
• Excellent communication with stakeholders (board, management, team, customers) in English

About the Role:

You will be taking the lead on developing innovative systems that help our clients both local and international to compete on the global market using Mendix technology. You will receive training to upgrade your skills from traditional coding to Mendix. Growth opportunities include paths towards senior management positions.

Projects are generally executed on-site at the customer and international travel will be required for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the technical lead in developing applications using the Mendix Low-Code Development Platform. Oversee end-to-end project processes, including planning, estimations, development, communication, risk management, and support (training provided).
• Manage Agile project teams and engage with client stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet agreed-upon KPIs and SLAs.
• Oversee and mentor development teams, providing career guidance and growth opportunities for team members.
• Act as the go-to person for resolving technical challenges and providing guidance.
• Drive initiatives to enhance technical competency within the company, establishing internal best practices and delivering high-quality software.
• Gain a deep understanding of clients' businesses and industries to identify new opportunities.
• Foster strong internal and external relationships through effective communication to ensure software delivery exceeds customer expectations.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, colleagues, and superiors for seamless project execution.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Software Engineering or Business IT Management.
• Between 6 to 15 years in software development, with at least 3 years in team management.
• Proven experience leading Scrum/Agile teams with full project ownership.
• In-depth knowledge of web technologies and object-oriented programming languages such as Java, C#, VB .NET, PHP, or similar.
• Skilled in SQL database design and complex query development.
• Comprehensive understanding of software development methodologies, principles, and processes.
• Familiarity with implementing microservice architecture.
• Interest in working with low-code technology (training provided).
• Ability to influence and share key updates with stakeholders, including the board, management, team members, customers, and clients in a professional and persuasive manner.
• Strong sense of responsibility and ownership, capable of setting an example for the team.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to guide technical teams effectively.
• Eagerness to learn and drive to succeed.
• Proficient in English communication, both written and verbal.

Preferred skills:

• Experience with React Native.
• Experience with CloudFoundry and Docker.
• Knowledge of Mendix or other low-code platforms.
