Job summary

OCBC Malaysia seeks a Business Compliance Officer to ensure operations comply with regulatory requirements. You’ll work with various stakeholders, identify risks, and implement effective controls to mitigate them.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/advanced diploma in any field.
  • Minimum 2 years of banking experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of compliance related requirements and sign-off.
  • Obtain necessary information from customers for compliance assessment.
  • Provide support to Business Units on KYC, OFAC, and other requirements.

Business Compliance Officer

As a Business Compliance Officer at OCBC, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the bank's operations are conducted with integrity and in compliance with regulatory requirements. To excel in this role, you'll need to stay up-to-date with changing regulatory requirements and industry trends. You'll work collaboratively with business units to identify and assess compliance risks, and develop effective controls to manage these risks. Your analytical and problem-solving skills will be essential in identifying potential compliance issues and implementing solutions to address them.

What you do
Compliance
  • Compliance Assist in the preparation of compliance related requirement e.g. BB Risk Calculators, Enhanced Due Diligence/ Ongoing Due Diligence (EDD/ODD), AML / Sanction checks etc for Relationship Managers to review and sign-off.
  • Compliance Obtain the necessary information from customers to complete the compliance assessment for RM's sign-off / submissions.
  • Compliance Provide support to Business Units from time to time including KYC, OFAC, appropriateness and other internal and external requirements.
  • Compliance Monitor and track regulatory compliance and breaches.
Service
  • Service Attending to customers’ inquiries and requests for all loan drawdowns / rollovers, FD placements / rollovers, fund transfers, foreign exchange transactions and other operational transactions such as account statements, balances, fund transfer status, indicative COF etc.
  • Service Handles Account Opening, Account Updates and Audit confirmation requests.
  • Service Attending to customers’ inquiries and requests for all loan drawdowns / rollovers, FD placements / rollovers, fund transfers, foreign exchange transactions and other operational transactions such as account, statement, balances, fund transfer status, indicative COF etc.
Who you are
  • Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in any field.
  • Experience/knowledge of banking is advantageous in the following areas: operations, processes, products, regulations, customer experience etc.
  • Minimum 2 years of banking experience.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as in a team.
  • Mature, meticulous, organized and takes initiative, drive, ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications especially in Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
