Job description

Summary

The position contributes from an executional and collaborative perspective on all strategic brand communications, media & content strategies, engagement & partnership with patient organizations, and internal communications to support positive employee engagement.

About The Role

Major Accountabilities:

  1. Coordinate and provide specialist knowledge across all specific areas of communications.
  2. Drive and lead internal employee communications plans through various approved channels.
  3. Establish, develop, and execute local communication plans aligned with Country, Region, and Global strategic goals, and desired market position for key brands.
  4. Disseminate information to relevant publics (marketable customers, regulators, shareholders) using appropriate media and press releases.
  5. Develop and execute social media strategies and campaigns for corporate and executive channels, including media planning/buying for paid campaigns.
  6. Manage editorial social calendar and deliver rich content for multiple social media platforms.
  7. Manage crises and issues communication in close collaboration with the Country Head of Communications & Patient Advocacy.
  8. Act as a strategic partner to the business and support the implementation of communication strategies across therapeutic areas.
  9. Build strong relationships with patients and patient organizations to improve outcomes, implement and localize global patient-inclusive campaigns, and prepare for potential crises.
  10. Create yearly integrated plans for brand, corporate, internal communications, social media, and patient relations.
  11. Implement communication plans in cooperation with key business partners.
  12. Identify, anticipate, and manage issues by working with relevant functions and counsel management.
  13. Establish and drive patient advocacy strategies, manage relationships with local patient organizations, and support the establishment of new ones if needed.
  14. Develop and lead disease patient advocacy initiatives aligned with business partners.
  15. Facilitate patient organization events and align expectations on patient outcomes.
  16. Ensure brand consistency and market positioning in external communications, maintaining alignment across the enterprise and implementing communication controls.
  17. Measure the impact of channels and campaigns against business objectives using established templates.
  18. Supervise the implementation of projects or communication activities.
  19. Build relationships with brand managers, business leads, P&O partners, and senior communication colleagues.
  20. Manage agencies to create engaging multimedia content, enhance community management, set targets, increase engagement, and track KPIs for ROI.
  21. Coordinate communication resources effectively to achieve results.
  22. Ensure compliance with internal and external policies, liaising with regional and local compliance functions.
  23. Report technical complaints, adverse events, or special cases related to Novartis products within 24 hours.

  • Promote a diverse and inclusive environment, free from discrimination and harassment.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in agency and MNC environments, preferably in innovative medicines or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Cross-cultural experience and stakeholder collaboration skills.
  • Project and operations management experience.
  • Significant experience in pharmaceutical communications, with understanding of healthcare and medicine communication concerns.
  • Ability to influence media and patient organizations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven team management skills, ability to manage projects and achieve results through influence.

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Malay (spoken and written)
  • Mandarin (spoken and reading)
