We are looking for Communications Executive to join our team!

  • This is a Clustered postion for Shangri-La Rasa Sayang, Penang & Shangri-La Golden Sands, Penang.

As Our Communications Executive, We Rely On You To

Assist the Director of Communications in the development, coordination and execution of all Communications activities.

Core Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Director of Communications in collaborating with advertising agencies to develop tactical advertising campaigns and media plans for the Rooms and Food & Beverage divisions.
  • Maximizing the effectiveness of the advertising budget by ensuring the hotel's creative messaging and media activities are aligned with those of sister hotels and Shangri-La Group’s advertising.
  • Ensuring advertising creatives are consistent with Shangri-La Group’s standards, delivering a unified and high-quality brand message.
  • Reviewing the hotel’s market segmentation and other relevant marketing reports to ensure media scheduling aligns with the target audience.
  • Coordinating and executing all printed materials with the support of the advertising agency, following the guidelines outlined in the Group.
  • Supervising the production and quality of all hotel public area displays and temporary signage.
  • Fully understanding and consistently adhering to brand standards and related guidelines.
  • Supporting the Director of Communications in maintaining proactive communication and building team collaboration with the communications team and other marketing departments (such as Event Management, Sales, and Reservations) to achieve overall hotel goals.
  • Interacting with department and hotel staff with professionalism and a positive attitude, building strong relationships, promoting team spirit, and ensuring effective two-way communication.
  • Maintaining active communication and close relationships with Shangri-La International Hotel Management Ltd.'s Public Relations & Brand Communications, Loyalty Marketing, E-commerce departments, and PR agencies.

We Are Looking For Someone Who

  • Diploma/Degree in Marketing, Mass Communication or equivalent with a minimum 1 year of experience in a similar marketing role with strong digital marketing knowledge and expertise, preferably in hospitality or travel industries
  • Strong communications skills – verbal, written, analytical skills, content creation, and public relations skills.
  • Creative, proactive, and results-driven with strong analytical capabilities
  • Good understanding of social media strategies and channels
  • A genuine passion for marketing, social media, and PR. Eager to explore and embrace new digital trends to ensure the hotel stays ahead in adopting the latest technological advancements.
  • Excellent project and time management skills, capable of handling multiple priorities in fast-paced environment
  • Keen interest in emerging marketing trends, consumer insights and industry developments
  • Has strong interpersonal & communication skill.
  • Continuously looks for ways to develop themselves as well as others
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environment, work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and ensure high quality deliverables with high attention to detail
