Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced business development professional to join our Global Procurement Team to help develop strategic business relationships with external suppliers and internal stakeholders. You will report to the Global Director of Procurement and will lead several contract negotiations, drive cost savings initiatives, and implement strategic sourcing best practices. The Senior Commodity Manager’s role is to ensure Enovix leverages the top industry supplier markets in the best way to support stakeholder’s needs while ensuring the best possible Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Cost, and on-time Delivery for our lithium battery cells. This is a cross functional Individual Contributor who will interface with cross functional groups to ensure business needs are supported and deliverables are met.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement commodity strategy, including long range capacity planning for 3+ years into the future
  • Take material sourcing decisions and be accountable for performance against cost, quality, and lead time goals
  • Onboard new suppliers considering evaluation of capability, implementation of legal contracts, assessment of financial risks, establishment of performance reviews
  • Evaluate supplier reliability and develop new supply sources where vendors or suppliers are no longer competitive
  • Set improvement plans and follow up for results
  • Gather quotations, evaluate bids, and consider various supplier performance metrics to award business
  • Evaluate risk of ongoing availability of material, address obsolescence, and last time buys. Implement stocking strategies and contracts to mitigate future availability and supply chain risks
  • Forecast cost impacts, approve pricing changes, and negotiate cost reduction with suppliers
  • Interact with engineering, manufacturing, and other groups to understand cross functional impacts of design and manufacturing strategy decisions
  • Work cross functionally with Supply Chain Operations, Logistics and all groups involved to minimize supply chain disruptions
  • Hands on focus with requirement to self-drive resolution to identified deliverables.
  • Provide comprehensive benchmarking of all competitive components and materials technology
  • Establish measurement tools/metrics to monitor and report to executives the progress of team deliverables
  • Develop and implement cost analysis and cost benchmarking tools for responsible materials
  • Design, conduct and synthesize supplier, industry and market research for portfolio of commodity materials to develop sourcing strategy
  • Provide analysis of existing requirements and pricing to ensure the most cost-effective options as utilized while maintaining quality and craftsmanship
  • Negotiate and execute Master Supply Agreement terms and conditions as well as development contracts prototype and production materials
  • Maintain day-to-day supplier relationships, act as the lead point of contact for all commercial issues.
  • Source all needed battery material commodities within the established cost targets while maintaining project timing, quality, cost and craftsmanship requirements.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risk related to materials shortages, price fluctuations, and vendor reliability.
  • Work with legal and finance teams to ensure contract compliance and risk assessment in procurement decisions.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the Environmental Management System (EMS) as per ISO 14001:2015 requirements.
  • Ensure environmental responsibilities are fulfilled in accordance with organizational policies and applicable environmental regulations.
  • Participate in environmental awareness and training programs.
  • Identify and report potential environmental risks or nonconformities.
  • Support continual improvement of environmental performance and compliance with EMS objectives.
  • Take reasonable care for the environment and follow procedures to prevent pollution or harm.
