Commodity Manager (Capital Equipment & Facilities) - US MNC, Based in Perai

Our client, US-based MNC Semiconductor, is seeking a Commodity Manager specializing in Capital Equipment & Facilities to be based at the Perai plant.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Leading critical contract negotiations with senior management and Global Supply Chain representatives.
  2. Handling negotiation issues, supplier terms & conditions, and pricing concerns.
  3. Utilizing supplier scorecards and conducting periodic business reviews for critical suppliers.
  4. Aligning regional cost-saving initiatives with business unit goals.
  5. Managing supplier selection and qualification processes.
  6. Minimizing sole sourcing and developing business continuity plans for sole-source suppliers.
  7. Supporting and training site buyers on procurement tools.
  8. Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  9. Developing and managing a team of supply chain support practitioners.
  10. Implementing and verifying Total Cost of Ownership (TCOO) programs before and after capital procurement.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or related fields; MBA or advanced coursework preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Supply Chain Management.
  • Proficiency in multicultural communication, consensus building, leadership across business units, crisis resolution, and execution of planned activities.
  • Experience with Fab equipment, Test equipment, IT hardware & software, facility equipment service & maintenance, and general facility materials & services.
  • Sourcing experience outside the region.
  • Skills in financial benefit analysis, contract negotiations, contract management, and value-based decision-making.
  • Effective communication via email and conference calls with counterparts in Europe, US, and Asia.
