Job description

Linde Malaysia Sdn Bhd. | Business Area: Procurement – Commodity Manager – Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia.

As a Commodity Manager, you will play a strategic role in shaping sourcing strategies, driving cost optimisation, and strengthening supplier partnerships that support business growth. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure supply continuity, manage commercial risks, and deliver sustainable value across key categories.

Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end sourcing activities for on‑site construction projects, plant expansions, and engineering packages, ensuring the best commercial and operational outcomes.
• Develop and execute category strategies, manage tendering processes, lead supplier negotiations, and drive procurement savings and value creation.
• Manage supplier performance, contract compliance, and procurement risks to ensure supply continuity and successful project delivery.
• Oversee bid management and control, ensure timely contract awards, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks throughout the procurement lifecycle.
• Manage critical contract provisions, including liquidated damages (LDs), milestone validation, and performance bonds, while ensuring compliance with global, regional, and local procurement requirements.
• Collaborate closely with Operations, SHEQ, Finance, Legal, Project Teams, and Regional/Global Procurement stakeholders to support strategic sourcing initiatives and continuous improvement within the procurement function.

Qualifications

• Degree in Procurement, Engineering, Delivery & Logistics, or a related field.
• Six to ten (6‑10) years of procurement experience in an industrial or manufacturing sector.
• Strong experience in contracts and supplier negotiations.
• Experience in the required commodity/function will be viewed as an advantage.
