Job summary

Linde Malaysia Sdn Bhd. in Petaling Jaya is seeking a Commodity Manager to shape sourcing strategies, lead supplier negotiations, and drive value across key categories for on-site projects.

You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure continuity of supply, manage commercial risks, and deliver savings and compliance across procurement lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Degree in Procurement, Engineering, Delivery & Logistics, or a related field.
• 6–10 years of procurement experience in industrial or manufacturing settings.
• Strong experience in contracts and supplier negotiations.
• Experience in the required commodity/function is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end sourcing for on-site construction projects, plant expansions, and engineering packages.
• Develop category strategies, manage tenders, negotiate with suppliers, and drive savings.
• Manage supplier performance, contract compliance, and procurement risks.
• Oversee bid management, contract awards, and risk mitigation across procurement lifecycle.
• Handle LDs, milestone validation, and performance bonds with global/local procurement compliance.
• Collaborate with Operations, SHEQ, Finance, Legal, and regional/global procurement teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end sourcing activities for on‑site construction projects, plant expansions, and engineering packages, ensuring the best commercial and operational outcomes.
• Develop and execute category strategies, manage tendering processes, lead supplier negotiations, and drive procurement savings and value creation.
• Manage supplier performance, contract compliance, and procurement risks to ensure supply continuity and successful project delivery.
• Oversee bid management and control, ensure timely contract awards, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks throughout the procurement lifecycle.
• Manage critical contract provisions, including liquidated damages (LDs), milestone validation, and performance bonds, while ensuring compliance with global, regional, and local procurement requirements.
• Work closely with Operations, SHEQ, Finance, Legal, Project Teams, and Regional/Global Procurement stakeholders to support strategic sourcing initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement and capability development within the procurement function.

Qualifications

• Degree in Procurement, Engineering, Delivery & Logistics, or a related field.
• Six to ten (6‑10) years of procurement experience in an industrial or manufacturing sector.
• Strong experience in contracts and supplier negotiations.
• Experience in the required commodity/function will be an added advantage.
