Responsibilities:
- Execute three to five-year plans & objectives.
- Maintain responsibility for developing and executing strategies for strategic and/or high-dollar commodities or groups of commodities, focusing on quality, price/value determination, and timely delivery.
- Be accountable for projects or programs on a multi-functional, national, or regional basis; may lead work groups or project teams, or provide advice and guidance in your area of specialty to ensure quality, delivery, and cost objectives are met.
- Set tactical plans to achieve assigned goals within established professional standards, policies, objectives, and timelines; be responsible for the quality of work delivered.
- Drive continuous improvements across all functions, lead problem resolution of diverse scope based on analysis of facts and data, develop short and long-term plans and solutions, update or establish policies to standardize processes, and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Build cross-functional relationships, negotiate, persuade, and use tact to gain support from key suppliers and customers, ensuring the success of the organization.
- Establish and drive strategic global bidding initiatives, ensuring all site interests are understood and considered; support worldwide product pricing strategy and processes.
- Negotiate globally on pricing, terms & conditions, monitor supplier performance, and maintain supply continuity.
- Conduct strategic analysis on pricing, market, suppliers, customers, competitors, contracts, and long-term agreements; manage complex commodities in a dynamic environment.
- Ensure timely execution of commodity plans, supplier analysis, development, selection, quotation/contracting, and relationship management within established processes and policies.
- Act as the primary interface with suppliers for relationship management, contract negotiations, business development, and performance reviews.
- Track and report performance metrics regularly.
- May act as site liaison to manage critical shortages, develop strategies for constrained commodities, and represent the site; manage related system changes affecting purchasing responsibilities.
- Assist in developing training plans for new employees and mentor them.
Typical Education
Requirements:
- At least 5-7 years of experience in the Semiconductor Industry.
- Deep understanding of AP culture.
- Experience in negotiating contracts, stocking programs, LT reductions activities, and supplier development is useful.
- Skills in problem resolution and conflict management.
- Preferably a Mechanical Engineering background.
- Knowledge of global supply chain trends and how global environment influences strategic commodities, including industry pricing, technology, and supply/demand trends.
- Strong knowledge of engineering concepts and financial analysis.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- High integrity.
- Ability to challenge the status quo, adopt rational, fact-based problem-solving methodologies, and implement continuous improvements.
- Ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently with a strong sense of responsibility and urgency.
- Proven ability to lead complex negotiations.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- A strong desire to learn and take on dynamic challenges.
- This role may be performed remotely.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and visual concentration on a computer.
- Frequent overnight travel is required.
