Commodity Management Advisor 1

Detailed Description:
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Determine price/value.
  • Negotiate products/services, terms, and conditions.
  • Develop supplier relationships and performance.
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies:
    • Competitive benchmarking.
    • Technology direction.
    • Supplier analysis, development, and selection.
    • Pricing strategy.
    • Full product/service sourcing responsibility.
  • Commodity Council Corporate negotiations.
  • Customer Materials Commitment process (pricing/BOM analysis).
  • Serve as primary contact for site/customer support.
  • Quote and negotiate quarterly for products/services (regional/global).
  • Conduct customer bids within response time objectives.
  • Performance reviews.
  • Interact and negotiate with senior executives of multinational companies.
  • Support internal customers:
    • Resolve quality, serviceability, and performance issues.
    • Identify supply/demand and communicate distribution.
    • Consolidate and escalate critical shortages.
    • Resolve related issues.
  • Provide product cost support for assigned geographies.
  • Prepare bids:
    • BOM generation.
    • Cost analysis.
    • Supplier negotiation.
    • Management presentations.
  • Maintain material price databases and analyze BOMs.
  • Provide guidance to junior staff and site counterparts.
  • Ensure process compliance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 8-12 years of commodity management experience.
  • Broad knowledge of market conditions (pricing, technology, supply/demand).
  • Experience in contract negotiation, stocking programs, LT reduction, and supplier development.
  • Proficiency in computer applications (ERP, office systems).
  • Problem resolution and conflict management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • High integrity.
  • Proactive approach and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to work independently with responsibility and urgency.
  • Strong desire to learn and embrace challenges.
