Position Overview

Reporting to the SE Asia Commissioning Director, the Commissioning Manager will oversee and manage the testing and commissioning activities for data centre projects located in Malaysia. This role requires hands-on leadership and technical expertise in data centre operations, as well as strong project management skills.

Responsibilities :

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and manage a team of testing and commissioning engineers and technicians.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the team to ensure successful project completion.

Strategy Development:

  • Develop and implement effective testing and commissioning strategies tailored to the projects.
  • Coordinate closely with the SE Asia Testing & Commissioning Director to align regional strategies with local execution.

Project Oversight:

  • Oversee the testing and commissioning process for all data centre projects in country.
  • Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and clients to ensure project timelines and budgets are adhered to.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with industry standards.

Protocol Development and Enforcement:

  • Develop rigorous testing and commissioning protocols specific to the country’s operations.
  • Ensure adherence to these protocols and compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Review and approve test plans, reports, and commissioning documentation.

Client collaboration:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the testing and commissioning phase.
  • Resolve any complex technical issues that arise, ensuring client satisfaction.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in data centre testing, commissioning, and operations.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage teams and complex projects effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of data centre infrastructure, including HVAC, power systems, and network operations.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools used in the testing and commissioning process.
  • Excellent project management skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Relevant certifications in procurement, supply chain management, or contract management (e.g., CPM, CSCP).
  • Familiarity with the business environment and regulatory landscape in Southeast Asia.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Willingness to travel within the region as required.
