Position Overview

Reporting to the Commissioning Manager, the Commissioning Engineer will manage the testing and commissioning activities for data centre projects. This role requires hands-on technical expertise in data centre commissioning and operations, as well as strong project management skills.

Responsibilities :

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and manage a team of testing and commissioning agent’s engineers and technicians.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the team to ensure successful project completion.

Strategy Development:

  • Support the Testing & Commissioning Manager to develop and implement effective testing and commissioning strategies.
  • Coordinate closely with the SE Asia Testing & Commissioning Director to align regional strategies with local execution.

Project Oversight:

  • Directly manage the testing and commissioning process for all data centre projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and clients to ensure project timelines and budgets are adhered to.
  • Conduct regular site visits during construction stages to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with industry standards.
  • To be full time on site during all testing and commissioning process.

Protocol Enforcement:

  • Ensure adherence of testing and commissioning protocols and compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Review and approve test plans, reports, and commissioning documentation.

Client collaboration:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the testing and commissioning phase.
  • Resolve any complex technical issues that arise, ensuring client satisfaction.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data centre testing, commissioning, and operations.
  • Good knowledge of data centre infrastructure, including HVAC, power systems, and network operations.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools used in the testing and commissioning process.
  • Excellent project management skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Relevant certifications in procurement, supply chain management, or contract management (e.g., CPM, CSCP).
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Willingness to travel within the region as required.
