Our engineering expertise reaches across all sectors of the construction industry, providing pragmatic and practical design solutions to ensure our projects are spatially and operationally efficient. Our design process fully considers the installation and maintenance practicalities on site.

As a business, our ambition is to be a leading global MEP consultancy and as a purposeful employer, our Site Services (SS) Team is critical to our overall success.

Reporting to the Sr Cx Manager, the purpose of this role is to work on site delivering commissioning management services.

This is a client facing, hands‑on role, where you will be required to work on site alongside or supporting our construction supervision and engineering teams.

You will be supported in your career progression and aspirations. You will be mentored and provided with on‑the‑job training to achieve the Roles, Responsibilities and Requirements outlined below.

Develop data‑centre‑specific commissioning plans, Level 1–5 test scripts, and commissioning schedules aligned with client standards (e.g., hyperscale Cx frameworks).

Review IFC drawings, single‑line diagrams, sequence‑of‑operations, and vendor submittals to define commissioning scope and requirements.

Coordinate commissioning activities with construction, QA/QC, design engineers, vendors, and the client’s Cx management team to ensure alignment with critical path and energisation sequence.

Plan and coordinate MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs required for testing critical systems.

Conduct or supervise FATs, SATs, pre‑functional checklists (PFCs), functional performance tests (FPTs), and Integrated Systems Testing (IST) for all critical systems.

Verify system redundancy, failover logic, load transfer behaviour, and resiliency scenarios (N, N+1, 2N, etc.).

Troubleshoot issues rapidly to protect schedule and data‑centre readiness.

Maintain commissioning documentation throughout all phases, including test records, redlines, issue logs, punch lists, and performance data.

Ensure all tests comply with client commissioning standards, EU/EN guidelines, and equipment manufacturer specifications.

Support development of final commissioning reports, IST summaries, reliability test data, and client handover documentation.

Ensure that documentation meets the requirements for Operational Readiness and Day 1 capacity certification.

Ensure strict adherence to data‑centre safety protocols, including LOTO, HV/LV safety procedures, arc‑flash boundaries, fuel system safety, and safe energisation practices.

Monitor and enforce safe working practices during all commissioning stages.

Work closely with client Cx teams, equipment vendors, and colocation/hyperscale representatives.

Provide updates in commissioning meetings, highlight risks to the critical path, and propose mitigation strategies for delays or defects.

Support training and handover to client facilities and operations teams, including walk‑downs and explanation of system performance.

Experience executing scenario‑based testing: failover, loss‑of‑utility, load transitions, reliability demonstrations, and black‑building tests.

Ability to validate interoperability between systems and confirm correct sequencing, logic, and alarms.

Understanding of control sequences, monitoring points, alarm hierarchies, trending, and system integration.

Ability to work with BMS/EPMS teams to verify control logic and data accuracy.

Familiarity with relevant British, European or local standards and guidelines.

Competent in ensuring documentation accuracy: test scripts, checklists, issue logs, and commissioning reports.
