Job summary

Oriental Coffee International Sdn Bhd (Retail) is seeking a diligent kitchen assistant to master basic cooking methods and prepare fresh ingredients daily. You will help store and manage food, maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, and uphold strict safety standards in a fast-paced work environment.

You should have at least a SPM or Diploma, with 1 year in F&B, and be able to work weekends and shifts. Team player, capable of following directions, and maintaining quality dishes are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and plating accuracy.
• Adaptability in a busy kitchen with changing menus.

Responsibilities

• Master basic cooking methods and ingredient cutting.
• Prepare fresh ingredients daily as per menu/SOP.
• Maintain proper storage of food and clean areas.
• Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and know maintenance basics.
• Assist Head Chef & Chef De Partie as required.

Job description

Master all basic cooking methods like cutting of ingredients.

Prepare fresh ingredients for cooking according to menu/sop needed for the station daily.

Responsible for proper storage of food preparation and storage area.

Improving your food preparation methods based on feedback.

To perform overall cleaning duty of the kitchen area, all crockery and equipment.

To always maintain food safety standard.

Be familiar with the use of all electrical and mechanical equipment in the kitchen and

observe safety precautions when handling them.

To undertake any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Head Chef & Chef De Partie.

Ability to work in a team

Work Requirements: -

Candidate must possess at least SPM/Diploma in related field.

At least have 1 Year experience in same job role in F&B industry.

Good team player able to work independently.

Able to work weekends, public holidays, and shifts.

Be able to follow directions from the Head chef and be consistent with the food

preparation.

Basic knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering top-quality dishes.

Adaptability and the ability to handle a fast-paced kitchen environment.
