DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Manager to lead the commercial functions across tenders and projects within the engineering, oil & gas, and renewable energy sectors. This role involves managing subcontractors, claims, contracts, invoicing, and project close-out activities, while ensuring commercial integrity, profitability, and compliance with industry standards.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Tender & Commercial Inputs

  • Lead the preparation and submission of competitive tenders, ensuring alignment with technical and financial requirements.
  • Provide strategic commercial inputs including pricing models, risk assessments, and value engineering.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and finance teams to develop robust tender proposals.

Project Commercial Management

  • Manage subcontractor commercial activities, including scope definition, cost control, and performance evaluation.
  • Oversee claims and variation orders, ensuring proper documentation, negotiation, and resolution.
  • Administer contracts throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Develop and monitor payment schedules and invoicing plans based on contract milestones.
  • Ensure accurate and timely invoicing and follow-up on receivables.
  • Lead commercial close-out activities, including final account settlement and documentation.

Financial & Strategic Oversight

  • Monitor and report on project budgets, forecasts, and profitability.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks while maximizing opportunities.
  • Support senior management with commercial analysis and strategic recommendations.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure effective commercial operations.
  • Represent the company in commercial negotiations and client meetings.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of commercial management experience in engineering, oil & gas, or renewable energy sectors.
  • Strong understanding of tendering, contract law, claims management, and project finance.
  • Proven experience in managing subcontractors and commercial aspects of large-scale projects.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in commercial documentation and project management tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MS Project).
