Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Malaysia's Industrial Division is recruiting on behalf of a prominent organization in the palm oil industry. Our respected client is seeking a seasoned professional to join their team as Commercial Manager.

Job Summary:
The successful candidate will lead the department, managing the full post-fixture supply chain cycle for vegetable oil shipments, particularly palm oil. This includes planning, documentation, and coordination across internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient and compliant cargo movement.

Key Responsibilities:
* Department Leadership - Lead and manage the team overseeing supply chain from post-freight fixtures to cargo arrival at group units.
* Third-Party Sales Operations - Manage end-to-end operations for third-party sales, including coordination with buyers, suppliers, and chartering teams; review Letters of Credit and alternative payment terms.
* SOP Execution - Ensure deliverables are completed accurately, on time, and with clear, proactive communication per standard operating procedures.
* Team Development - Provide ongoing training to the department to meet performance objectives.
* Regulatory Updates - Keep the team informed of changes in port, customs, shipping, insurance, tariffs, banking, and sustainability regulations.
* Cross-Functional Coordination - Liaise with chartering, trading, unit operations, and finance teams to ensure seamless logistics execution.
* Process Optimization - Identify and implement best practices, controls, and operational improvements to support the company's growth.

Key Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related fields.
* Minimum 10-15 years of hands-on experience in logistics, post-shipment activities, and shipping documentation-preferably in the palm oil industry.
* Strong familiarity with palm oil trade and contract terms (e.g., PORAM, MEOMA, FOSFA, NIOP).
* Experience with marine insurance coverage and claims is essential.
