A leading energy firm is seeking a professional to lead their commercial strategy and pricing. The ideal candidate will develop pricing frameworks for energy projects, ensuring they align with corporate objectives. This role requires a strong background in project finance and excellent analytical skills to navigate market trends. Candidates should have a degree in a relevant field and substantial experience in contract negotiation and risk management, alongside proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
Project Commercial and Pricing
Responsibilities:
• Lead Commercial Strategy: Develop and implement pricing strategies and commercial frameworks for energy projects, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
• Contract Negotiation: Negotiate commercial terms and conditions with vendors and partners to optimize project profitability.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate commercial risks associated with project development to ensure financial sustainability.
• Market Analysis: Conduct market research to assess competitive pricing and emerging market trends that impact project viability.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the project finance and legal teams to ensure smooth project execution from a commercial standpoint.Tendering and Proposal Development: Support the preparation of tender documents, proposals, and bids
Requirements and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree or MBA is an advantage.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in commercial strategy, pricing, or project finance—preferably within the energy, infrastructure, or engineering sectors.
• Strong understanding of project lifecycle economics, contract structures, and pricing models for capital-intensive or long-term projects.
• Proven experience in negotiating commercial terms, managing contract risk, and working with cross-functional teams (finance, legal, technical).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret market data, pricing trends, and financial implications.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, Excel, and commercial evaluation tools; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and present complex concepts in a clear, concise manner.
• Demonstrated ability to develop tender proposals and manage pricing submissions under strict deadlines.
• High attention to detail, with a proactive, results-oriented, and strategic mindset.
