Job summary

An energy service company in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia is looking for maintenance personnel to verify the correct installation and functionality of various machinery. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, servicing, and conducting scheduled inspections, ensuring compliance with safety standards like BOSIET and HUET. The ideal candidate should have a Seaman Book and technical skills in machinery maintenance.

Qualifications

• Mandatory: Seaman Book, BOSIET and HUET.

Responsibilities

• Verify correct installation of machinery: Pumps, Compressors, Turbines.
• Perform alignment checks.
• Check for proper lubrication, seals, vibration isolators.
• Ensure correct piping, baseplate mounting, and soft foot elimination.
• Perform dry run tests and first rotation with no load.
• Support functional and load testing with process teams.
• Monitor vibration levels, temperature, and noise.
• Verify interlocks and trip settings.
• Collaborate with vendors and commissioning engineers to troubleshoot startup issues.
• Conduct scheduled inspections and lubrication routines.
• Replace worn-out bearings, seals, gaskets, couplings.
• Check and maintain alignment and balance.
• Service and overhaul gearboxes, pumps, motors.
• Monitor and log data for: Vibration, Oil quality and levels, Temperature, Noise.
• Use predictive tools like: Vibration analyzers, Thermography, Ultrasonic detectors.
• Rapid troubleshooting and repair of failed rotating machines.
• Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).
• Perform isolation and work under PTW/LOTO systems.
