COLORIST/COLOR LAB TECHNICIAN/COLOR MATCHER

• Develops color formulas for printing textiles and compares customer's samples with standard color cards, or blends pigments into vinyl solutions and compares results to determine formulas required to duplicate colors.
• Selects pigments according to properties desired by customers.
• Records color formulas and issues formulas and mixing procedures to SUPERVISOR, COLOR-PASTE MIXING, for assignment to appropriate workers.
• Prepares color sequence charts to guide CLOTH PRINTERS in setting up printing machines.
• Compares printed patches with customer's samples to verify color shades and design placement.
• Files folders containing color patches and formulas for each design for use as printing standards.
• Coordinates color shop activities with the printing department's production schedule.
• Inspects printed materials to ensure adherence to customer and plant specifications.
