Job summary

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of relevant experience as a debt recovery officer.
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Experience in the financial industry is a plus.

Job description

To do cold calling at a few numbers daily provided by the company.

To work closely with team members in order to achieve team targets.

Able to work independently and manage time effectively.

Responsible for minimizing defaults and bad debts of ongoing loans.

Manage and achieve daily productivity standards in terms of attempts, contacts, and the amount collected.

Manage and maintain customers' accounts to ensure they are current and well conducted.

Contact customers to remind them of the payment schedule and obtain relevant payments.

Follow up on overdue accounts using phone collection techniques, dunning letters, and legal counsel.

Ensure collection actions comply with corporate guidelines and collection policies.

Exercise judgment within defined practices and policies to determine appropriate actions.

Assist in developing, planning, and implementing strategies to recover principal from borrowers with non-performing loans charged off.

Willing to go the extra mile to improve current credit policies, credit analysis methodologies such as credit scoring/portfolio analysis, client audits, etc.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Experience in the financial industry is an added value.

Customer service skills — attentiveness, empathy, patience, consistency, persuasive communication, and excellent telephone manners.

Candidates must possess at least a bachelor’s degree, postgraduate diploma, professional degree, or equivalent in any field.

At least 1 year of relevant experience is required, with proven experience as a debt recovery officer being essential.

Fluent in spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.
