Avisena Healthcare is seeking a qualified Dietitian to monitor and optimize nutrition for patients, and to provide medical nutrition therapy for inpatients and outpatients. You will collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other professionals to tailor nutrition plans and ensure optimal outcomes.
You will educate hospital staff and patients, promote dietary services, and contribute to the Diet Manual and food services to meet quality standards.
To monitor, assess and optimize nutrition status based on the patient's current medical condition and/or nutrition adequacy.
Carry out dietary consultation and Medical Nutrition Therapy to referred inpatients and out-patients so patients can make nutritionally healthy food choices for the recovery process, prevent disease, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Confer with consultants and other healthcare professionals, e.g. pharmacists, physiotherapists and nurses, to coordinate medical and nutritional needs.
Make recommendations for tube and intravenous feedings and /or dietary supplements/ oral nutritional supplements.
Liaise with the subsidiary department to monitor inpatient hospital food services for conformance to the nutritional adequacy based on the Diet Manual, prescribed diets and meets all the quality standards of palatability and appearance.
Educate other healthcare professionals such as the clinical nurses and hospital staff on Medical Nutrition Therapy and Diet Manual to ensure the proper therapeutic diet is given to inpatients.
Provide Patient and Family Education & health teaching and education through the Assessment of patient's learning needs & using demonstration technique and educational materials such as brochures or pamphlets and other needed materials
Obtain a 4-year integrated undergraduate degree in Dietetics (with proof of having done Dietetics Internship Training) as the following:
Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Dietetics
Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Nutrition & Dietetics
Registered Dietitian or eligible for registration or certification/licensure as required by Ministry of Health Malaysia / Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council (AHP).
A member of the Malaysian Dietitians' Association.
A member of any international nutrition/Dietitian association (optional).
Promote dietary service to the public to create dietary service demand by joining marketing events, appearing in mass media, and submitting articles to magazines or newsletters.
Creating content and promoting dietary service in hospital social media.
Utilizing health informatic tools, electronic health records, and apps for patient care.
