Job description

ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT
  • 1. Understands and carries out the work instruction in line with Vision and Mission Statements, Philosophy, Goals and Objectives that suit the scope of the Services and hospital.
  • 2. Understands the service organization structure.
  • 3. Inform Head of Service when changes occur in circumstances which affect standard of services.
  • 4. Attends meetings held by the services in order to discuss issues and matters pertaining to the operation of the service.

5. Daily routine:

  • To register at respective clinic through system and open new folder.
  • To verify the guarantee letter of the patient.
  • To assist patient in signing their PDPA and consent treatment form.
  • To explain on patient and family rights.
  • To measure weight and height of the patient.
  • Chaperon all patient.
  • To prepare forms for cases; for example consent for angiogram and date booking, consent for blood transfusion, blood form etc.
  • To prevent patient from fall, to stick orange sticker at procedure forms.
  • To send patient to admission or any other area as required.
  • To write appointment date on the appointment card.
  • Next appointment date given by the ward will be written down in an appointment book and retrieval list.
  • To release patient medical report, consent form is asked to sign.
  • Patients' name is recorded in attendance book.
  • Dispatch folder written in dispatch book.
HUMAN RESOURCE AND DEVELOPMENT
  • 1. Takes personal responsibility for own professional development and keep up to date with professional change and growth by maintaining mandatory training hours.
  • 2. Participates in the orientation of new members of staff to the services.
  • 3. Participates actively in any other new service that is introduced.
  • 4. Maintain the record of personal leave and training attended.
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
  • 1. Adheres to the hospital policies and procedure and services code of conduct/ policies.
  • 2. Maintain confidentiality of patients personal and staff medical history.
  • 3. Ensure adherence to Prevention and Control of Infection.
FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT

1. Assists the qualified staff in the following:

  • Maintains proper storage of all equipment assigned in the services.
  • Check all equipment to ensure that they are in good condition and ready to be used at all time.
  • Report if there is any faulty.
  • Keeps accurate records of document in the services.
SAFETY AND QUALITY IMPROVEMENT ACTIVITIES
  • 1. Complies and promotes any recognized hospital Policies, and protect, promote and support Hospital activities.
  • 2. Participates actively in any other new service that is introduced by the services.
  • 3. Ensure staff comply with and adhere to policies and procedures related to quality and safety systems, the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI), and Standard People Practices.
  • 4. Participate in 5S activities and comply with the specified requirements.
  • 5. Practices Standard People Practice (SPP) at all times.
  • 6. Ensure compliance of Patient safety goals as safety improvement measures recommended by World Alliance for Patient Safety.
  • 7. Ensure proper incident reporting, investigation, and root cause analysis are conducted, with appropriate corrective and preventive actions implemented.
  • 8. Policies on patient and family rights are addressed at all times.
  • 9. Participate actively and encourage compliance to all policies and Procedures of QMS9001: 2015, EMS 14001, OSH 45001, Malaysian Hospital Accreditation Standards, Joint Commission International Accreditation Standards, PSG and NNA.
  • 10. Complies with any instruction or measure on occupational safety and health.
  • 11. Carries out duties as an employee as stipulated in Occupational Safety and Health Act and Regulations 1994:- To take reasonable care at work for the safety of yourself and other persons; To co-operate with your employer or any other person in the discharge of any duty; To cooperate with the outsourcing parties or any other persons in the discharge of any duty; To wear or use any protective equipment or clothing provided by the employer; To comply with any instruction or measure on occupational safety and health.
  • 12. Compliance to general terms:- Personal appearance Is appropriate for the work environment and meets expectation for the proper image of the hospital, as per services policies. Attendance Following hospital's policy regarding punctuality and attendance.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE SPECIFIC AREAS (If any)
  • 1. Tidy up the consultant’s room and the clinic area.
  • 2. Duty roster for all the clinic receptionist staff.
  • 3. To be able to perform duty during night clinic.
