The role

Our Southeast Asia Commercial team seeks a dynamic individual to join our Kuala Lumpur team as a Client Success Manager (CSM). The role involves fostering lasting client relationships and serving as a trusted advisor.

Ideal candidates will have proven experience in customer success and/or business analysis within the energy sector, with expertise in SaaS, strong commercial awareness, excellent networking skills, and the ability to understand customer needs.

You will develop and execute product-driven and segment-focused client retention and growth strategies, helping clients realize the full value of Rystad Energy’s databases and analytics. You will collaborate with teams such as marketing, product development, market research, and client training to drive engagement and expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Act as a trusted advisor by designing and delivering tailored engagement plans to maximize client value.
  2. Manage the entire customer lifecycle, including onboarding, product training, and query resolution.
  3. Track client usage and implement strategies to improve user adoption.
  4. Identify upsell opportunities and initiatives to grow the user base and ensure contract renewals.
  5. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  6. Serve as a conduit between clients and internal teams for feedback.
  7. Develop a thorough understanding of Rystad products and identify areas for market share growth.
  8. Provide support to your accounts and the global client portfolio.
  9. Participate in industry events to promote Rystad Energy.
  10. Maintain client data and interactions in the CRM system.

Skills & Attributes for success

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least three years of experience in Energy, Finance, SaaS, or Consulting.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, with a strong interest in client-facing roles.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Experience with large enterprise or global customers preferred.
  • Passion for developing customer relationships and enabling success.
  • Proven knowledge of Energy markets is essential.
  • Understanding of valuation models and economic analysis is highly desirable.
  • Experience with databases, CRM platforms, and Power BI is advantageous.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills across regions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint and Excel).
