CIVIL & STRUCTURE ENGINEER

Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, or any related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in related field that involves civil structure design practice, project management & supervision.
- Familiar with design software e.g. AutoCad, BIM, StaadPro, Esteem, etc.
- Able to handle and supervise construction projects including building construction and infrastructure works (e.g., building construction, road & drainage).
- Experience in Geotechnical works (e.g., ground improvement works, surcharge, PVD, reclamation, slope and settlement monitoring works or related field).
- Experience in Marine construction works (e.g., Berth construction, dredging, marine piling, and bathymetric survey).
- Experience in major projects and developments, especially port-related, is an advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Melayu.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and social media platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
The roles support the responsibilities of the Project Department, including:
- Design, develop, and review technical building and infrastructure plans and drawings for the project.
- Supervise the on-site team, ensuring the design and build concepts comply with the design requirements.
- Verify technical designs and drawings for accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Monitor construction budget spending and ensure it remains within financial budgets.
- Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety standards.
- Review and verify contractor submissions such as material approval, work programs, method statements, HIRARC, etc., ensuring compliance with specifications and design requirements.
- Analyze and verify work done for monthly Interim Progress Claims (IPC) from contractors for management approval.
- Assist the Head of Department (HOD) in liaising with user departments and port users for project planning and implementation during construction.
- Prepare department and project budgets and manage costs accordingly.
