Job summary

Jiangsu Installation Sdn. Bhd. (JSI) seeks a skilled Civil QA/QC professional to ensure project quality from construction through handover. You will develop plans, review technical submissions, and manage NCRs with a focus on earthworks and structural works.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering background, 5+ years of QA/QC experience with a main contractor, and familiarity with Malaysian standards, JKR, ISO 9001. Proficiency in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and AutoCAD is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural/Building Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of civil QA/QC experience with a main contractor.
• Familiar with Malaysian building requirements, JKR specifications, Malaysian Standards and ISO 9001.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD; strong documentation skills.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Project Quality Plans, ITPs, checklists and QC procedures for civil works.
• Review drawings, specs, material standards and submissions to identify quality risks.
• Conduct inspections for earthworks, foundations, piling, reinforcement, formwork, concrete, structural steel, masonry, waterproofing, finishes, roads and drainage.
• Manage MIR, WIR/RFI, witness and hold-point inspections; coordinate approvals with consultants and clients.
• Monitor material sampling, concrete tests, compaction tests, welding inspections and other site testing.
• Issue, track and close NCRs, quality observations and defect lists with corrective actions.
• Maintain quality records and prepare weekly/monthly quality reports and handover documentation.
• Conduct quality briefings and subcontractor training; support mock-up and first-work inspections.

About you

• Experience in industrial facility projects is an advantage
• Familiar with Malaysian building requirements, JKR specifications, Malaysian Standards, project specifications and ISO 9001
• Good knowledge of inspection and testing requirements for concrete, reinforcement, structural steel, welding, waterproofing and architectural finishes
• Able to prepare Quality Plans, ITPs, checklists, NCRs, Method Statements and quality reports independently
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
• Strong documentation, site coordination and problem-solving skills
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is an advantage
• Valid CIDB registration is required or must be obtainable. BEM registration, ISO 9001 Internal Auditor or relevant welding/concrete inspection qualifications are an advantage
