MVC Resources is seeking a Civil Engineer for a major industrial project in Sabah, Malaysia. The role involves providing technical support, coordinating civil works, and ensuring project compliance with safety and quality standards. As part of this groundbreaking initiative, we are seeking highly skilled professionals to join the project team and contribute to its successful and safe realisation.
Job Purpose:
The Civil Engineer will provide essential on-site technical support and construction coordination for civil engineering works within a large-scale infrastructure and industrial plant setup. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality, safety, and timely execution of all civil aspects of the project from foundational stages through completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive on-site technical support and coordination for civil engineering activities, including site preparation, earthworks, foundation treatment, temporary structures, roads, drainage systems, and other general infrastructure.
Review construction drawings, actively participate in design optimization discussions, and prepare detailed technical proposals, construction plans, and technical briefings.
Monitor construction progress diligently, supervise the implementation of quality and safety standards, and promptly resolve any technical issues that arise on site.
Coordinate civil works interfaces and technical matters effectively with design institutes, supervision consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless integration.
Participate in the preparation of tender documentation, review material selections, and provide expert technical advice and quantity estimations.
Assist in the compilation and maintenance of project documentation, including technical briefings, construction logs, quality inspection records, concealed works acceptance, and completion handover documents.
Take part in project acceptance procedures, site handovers, and reviews of technical changes.
Perform other civil-related tasks as assigned by the project leadership.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Bachelor's degree or above in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field.
Experience:
At least 10 years of progressive experience in large-scale civil construction, industrial park infrastructure development, or port engineering projects.
Demonstrated familiarity with site grading, foundation treatment, piling, temporary construction methods, and drainage systems.
Proven ability to independently draft construction technical plans, critically review drawings, and provide effective on-site construction guidance.
Technical Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD, standard Office software, and relevant measurement tools/software.
Knowledge & Abilities: Well-versed in construction standards, safety regulations, and acceptance criteria; possesses strong on-site management skills.
Certifications (Preferred): Holder of a First-Class Construction Engineer (Civil) license or an equivalent Intermediate-level professional title.
Language & Project Exposure (Preferred): Priority given to candidates with experience in Southeast Asia or other overseas projects; good English communication skills are preferred.
