Job Description
- Plan, design, and oversee construction and maintenance of building structures and infrastructure (e.g., roads, bridges, drainage, sewerage);
- Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications;
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met;
- Monitor day-to-day construction activities to ensure compliance with design, safety, and quality standards;
- Supervise site workers and subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate execution of works;
- Conduct site inspections and resolve any design or construction issues onsite;
- Ensure all materials and workmanship comply with the specifications, drawings, and industry standards (e.g., CIDB, JKR, MS standards);
- Conduct quality checks and participate in testing of materials (concrete, soil, steel, etc.);
- Ensure construction activities comply with local authorities and statutory requirements (e.g., CIDB, DOSH, DBKL/MBPJ);
- Assist in submission and approval processes for permits and clearances;
- Monitor project timelines and costs to ensure project delivery within budget and schedule;
- Prepare progress reports, work schedules, and cost estimates;
- Promote and enforce site safety practices in accordance with OSHA and site specific HSE plans;
- Liaise with Safety Officers to ensure a safe working environment;
- Maintain proper documentation for site activities, including daily reports, material records, and inspection logs;
- Report to the Project Manager or Resident Engineer on project status and technical issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent (recognized by BEM);
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience;
- Registered Graduate Engineer with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM);
- Proficiency in engineering soware (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD, MS Project, etc.);
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Good leadership, communication, and team coordination abilities;
- Familiar with local construction laws, codes, and practices;
- Proficient in English language, both written and spoken.
