Job summary

VerdantFlow Consulting is seeking freelance art facilitators to lead hands-on workshops for working adults on-site in Malaysia. You do not need to be a pro teacher; artists, educators, graduates, and hobbyists who can demonstrate good techniques and connect with adults are welcome.

You will collaborate with the lead trainer to guide participants, ensure a positive learning environment, and manage materials and setup for each session.

Qualifications

• Strong practical ability in at least one of the listed art areas.
• Reliable, punctual and able to travel within Malaysia.
• Experience teaching art, conducting workshops, or facilitating creative activities is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on art activities for groups of working adults.
• Demonstrate and guide participants in Chinese calligraphy.
• Explain basic techniques clearly to beginners with no prior art experience.
• Walk around the classroom, providing individual guidance and encouragement.
• Help participants complete a simple artwork within workshop time.
• Create a relaxed, positive and enjoyable learning environment.
• Assist with preparation and arrangement of art materials before sessions.
• Assist with basic cleanup and packing after sessions.
• Work closely with the lead trainer to ensure smooth delivery of the programme.
• Engage with corporate participants from diverse backgrounds.

About the Role

You will work alongside our lead trainer to guide working adults through hands-on creative activities during corporate training programmes.

You do not need to be a professional art teacher with years of experience but we need artists, art educators, art graduates, experienced hobbyists who can demonstrate good techniques and engage with adults.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on art activities for groups of working adults.
• Demonstrate and guide participants in Chinese calligraphy.
• Explain basic techniques clearly and patiently to participants with no artistic experience.
• Walk around the classroom and provide individual guidance and encouragement.
• Help participants complete a simple artwork within the allocated workshop time.
• Create a relaxed, positive and enjoyable learning environment.
• Assist with preparation and arrangement of art materials before the workshop.
• Assist with basic clean-up and packing of materials after the session.
• Work closely with the lead trainer to ensure smooth delivery of the programme.
• Be comfortable interacting with corporate participants from different backgrounds with no artistic ability.

Skills & Experience

Required:

• Strong practical ability in at least one of the following:
  • Chinese Calligraphy
  • Comfortable demonstrating artistic techniques to others.
  • Patient, friendly and encouraging when working with beginners.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable facilitating activities with groups of adults.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Willing to travel within Malaysia.

An advantage if you have:

• Experience teaching art, conducting workshops or facilitating creative activities.
• Able to teach and explain art techniques to adults in english.
• Experience in multiple mediums such as calligraphy.
• A portfolio of artwork that can be shared during the application process.
• Ability to communicate in English.
