We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this team in the role of China Desk Relationship Manager - Global Network Banking.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • The main role is to increase market penetration and profitability of international customers while maximizing total contributions to the Bank. Credit proposals submitted for approval must ensure compliance with all internal/external directives.
  • The role involves working with multiple internal & external stakeholders to develop new business by identifying prospects, managing deal pipeline, and promoting HSBC China and Malaysia capabilities among local Chinese subsidiaries, Malaysian corporates, and HSBC staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Increase sales of Global Network Banking (GNB) products and contribute to the growth and profitability of HBMY’s China corridor business, emphasizing HSBC capabilities.
  • Manage existing Chinese international customer portfolio and originate new deal pipeline by collaborating with GRMs and product partners.
  • Evaluate and recommend credit proposals within risk parameters, lending guidelines, and assigned limits.
  • Promote and implement an aggressive cross-sell plan focusing on Global Payments Solutions.
  • Establish ties with GNB counterparties across the Group to identify opportunities and work with Marketing to promote HSBC Malaysia China corridor.
  • Ensure repayments are affected, assist in recoveries, and provide turnaround services within customer expectations and against competitors.
  • Familiarize with the suite of banking operations, services, and products, encouraging customer use of self-service systems.
  • Safeguard the Bank from potential loss and contribute positively to the Bank’s image.
  • Engage appropriately with key internal stakeholders to support the China Desk Leadership team on strategy and revenue-driving initiatives.
